Storage, processing and distribution of information and communication: Cloud computing in Latin-American

    Get PDF
Remote computing operations including storage, processing and distribution of information and communication began to emerge in the last decade of the last century in business and corporate environments. However, its use has spread as a fundamental service in the latest web applications as usual practice of any current Internet user. Tightly, interwoven with network communication experiences they are in turn transforming the use of computer technology, now based on parameters such as maximum mobility, greater lightness on computers, communication and concurrency in creating mini ad hoc applications, among others. This study describes some of the most important communicative features of cloud computing as well as their social uses. Among them, breaking the traditional concepts of space, time and identity constructio

Model technology management for industrial project implementation

    Get PDF
One situation that has brought problems in the colombian business sector has been the same dependence as technologies are concerned. In this sense, technology management involves driving all aspects related to the generation and introduction of technological changes in the company, allowing catalyze innovations in strategic, managerial, cultural, organizational and infrastructure systems inside. In this context, the investigation to be applied for industrial projects, why the general objective to propose a model of technological management for industrial projects is justified. For this, a theoretical basis is established authors like Chiavenato, Hurtado and Toro, Paneque which served as reference for this investigation for which a methodology was used with a field design not experimental, transactional descriptive. As for the results and l purpose it is to meet the requirements of the industry which in turn translates into good service for customers who depend on it, ensuring growth and profitability for shareholders, keeping the resource human both qualified as motivated as well as continuous improvement of processes in optimal safety conditions

Comparative analysis between psychosocial risk assessment models

The purpose of the present work is to perform a comparative analysis between the models of psychosocial risk assessment of the demand-control-social-support side of Karasek and Tehorel and Siegrist's reward-effort, since, the year 2000. The models considered for the comparison is: Copenhagen of the year 2000 is TAS21 of 2005 the Toolkit for the evaluation of psychosocial risk factors of the Ministry of Social Protection of Colombia in 2010 and the model of evaluation of psychosocial risk factors determined by factors internal, individual, double and external presence of Bucci and Luna of the year 2013. The factors considered for the comparison are the internal of the individual and external organization of the worker

The data envelopment analysis to determine efficiency of Latin American countries for greenhouse gases control in electric power generation

    Get PDF
The objective of this research is to determine the efficiency of Latin American countries for the control of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions due to the generation of electrical energy using the Data Envelopment Analysis. A positivist epistemic position is assumed, and a methodology of evaluative character is used, comprising five (5) phases. The results show that the countries that are located on the efficient frontier have common police like the increase in the share of renewable energies, and diversification of the energy matrix, which means a better control of GHG emissions. It is possible to determine the efficiency of the public policies established by the countries of Latin America for the control of GHG emissions. In conclusion, the countries that are located on the efficient frontier are those that generate electricity with predominantly renewable sources or, at least, use natural gas as a fuel in greater proportion

Public policies in science and technology in Latin American countries with universities in the top 100 of web ranking

he present research characterizes the main public policies of Latin American countries that present universities in the top 100 of the web ranking of universities. As a determining governmental policy in the universities best positioned in the group studied, there is support for the training of doctors and the management of fundng programs for research projects, to a lesser extent the influence of accreditation programs on researchers, research groups and scientific joumals to the positioning of universitie

Performance energetic of the sector hydrologic

While greater our knowledge of the behavior of any facility energy consumption rater, the greater the opportunities to implement effective measures to reduce consumption without affecting productivity. In this sense, the present work aims to determine the energy performance of water sector, taking as a case study proposed provision served in Lara State, Venezuela. To achieve this purpose these monthly consumption for a period of 4 years correlated from 2012-2015, we were made correlation graphs and consumption rate was determined. About 3.203 data were analyzed for 125 environment where hydrological facilities in the state are located. The correlation diagrams shown lar trend curves and their correlation. All correlations were close to 0 considered weak. The consumption rate calculated average is 0.9561 kWh/m3. Curves consumption rate against water show that the system is more efficient as the water supply exceeds 200.000 m3

An intelligent strategy for faults location in distribution networks with distributed generation

    Get PDF
The exact location of faults in the electrical distribution systems is a problem that affects not only the users, but also the companies providing the electric service. With greater time invested in this period, the losses due to unbilled energy and inconvenience to users increases, thus decreasing the quality of service. One of the causes of the growth in time is the misunderstanding that might exist in the localization systems that act under the presence of distributed generation sources in the distribution networks. In this sense, the present research develops an intelligent diagnosis of faults in distribution systems with distributed generation. Three stages are defined: Identification of the type of fault, the location of the zone, and the exact point of fault. A mixed method based on artificial intelligence and mathematical algorithms is applied. Eleven different types of faults that can occur in a distribution system are considered with six different values of fault resistances ranging from 5 to 30 . The errors found are less than 2% in the location of the fault point with robustness to variations in the load and the penetration of distributed generation

Greenhouse gases emissions and electric power generation in Latin American countries in the period 2006–2013

    Get PDF
The objective of this study is to classify the group of countries that contributes to the emissions of GHG gases in relation to their electric power generation. The data used for this classification are those reported by OLADE during the period from 2006 to 2013. The results show that they were organized in four (4) clusters, dividing them into efficient and inefficient levels. In the highest efficient level is Brazil, while in the lowest efficient level are Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Argentina and Mexico are in the highest inefficient level, while the rest of the Latin American countries are in the lowest inefficient level. The countries located at the efficient and inefficient levels were labeled as most emitting countries and least emitting countries

Application of classification technique of data mining for employee management system

This paper presents the application of classification technique of data mining used for the Employee Management System (EMS). This paper discusses the classification techniques of data mining and based on the data, the process of Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) is reformed for classifying large data into different categories such as Disability, Employee Performance, etc. This paper discusses, WEKA data mining toolkit classifier model to predict employee’s performance based on the employee’s age, date of joining and number of years of experience. This study helps to predict the employee’s work-cycle and helps the management to find the employee’s performance those who are disabled and enabled. The paper addresses the system to get the details of those employees who need special attention and guide the management to make policies to improve employees’ performance. We demonstrate the application in a real-life situation. © Springer International Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature 2018

Formulation of strategies for efficient cadastral management

Cadastre has been a primary resource as a source of tax revenues. With the growth of population and urban areas, the information has increased exponentially and efficient ways to manage it are needed. This makes necessary to make changes in the way of managing their processes and resources and requiring the adequate legislation and regulations. This paper proposes the design of strategies using the SWOT matrix, considering the reviews reported in state database of Iberoamerican in a span of 14 years regarding diagnoses, mission, vision, and ability to provide services in cadastre management, in order to design strategies for efficiencies in management
